Shkoodeh Kwe n’dizhnikaz. Mkwa miinwaa Mzhiikenh Dodem\, Neyaashiinigmiing miinwaa Moraviantown doonjibaa. \nHi everyone I’m Sheila. I’m the one who lights your Inner Fire.  I’m Bear Clan on my Father’s side and Turtle Clan on my Mother’s Side. I was raised and currently live at Neyaashiinigmiing which translates to piece of land surrounded by three sides of Water.  My Mother’s homeland is Moraviantown Reserve\, near Chatham Ontario and that’s where I was born. I grew up in Ojibway Territory and I acknowledge my Lenape/ Delaware Lineage. \nI am a Mother\, Daughter\, Sister\, Auntie and Grandmother. I am also a Ceremonial Ogitchitaa Kwe\, Sundancer\, Sweat Lodge Conductor\, Many Bundle Caretaker\, Medicine Gatherer and Maker of teas and minigan (salves).  I provide teachings to whoever wants to learn\, they just have to ask. I also teach Drumming and Singing\, and assist in healings to anyone who wants to heal from their traumas using our culture as the main tool. I’m also a great listener!  I have worked with people of all ages\, facilitating workshops\, going into schools and having been invited to participate and travel with my Nookmis to many gatherings. \nMy training began under the wings of many Grandmothers\, Grandfathers and Healers over 20 years ago\, beginning with my own. It was the ugliest yet most beautiful Life experience I’ve ever had to go through and continue to do so whenever the opportunity arises.  It’s not easy to open your heart to heal the childhood and ancestral trauma we carry as Indigenous peoples\, however it so definitely worth it!  I’m so very grateful to the guidance of everyone who has crossed my path and taught me something about myself and for taking the time to help me on this amazing journey. This is when my life changed forever.  I embraced it and never looked back! \nI’m a helper to the Elders\, a support to our youth as well as community as a whole with a 24 hr.  Community Fire Drop In called\, “I Love ❤️ You No Matter What.” Here we offer up prayers\, food\, our kind presence and backpacks to our youth or anyone who may need a little help with supplies. \nI’m also very crafty\, I love to sew\, and create my dreams and visions to make them into a reality. I’m a board member of Earth Song Alliance. I have a passion and love for the healing with our one true Mother and of all the medicine she grows and nourishes\, including her children. The Waters that flow upon our Mother is like the Blood that fIows within our Veins! I believe we all have a part in raising her vibration and helping each other to be those amazing human beings that our One Infinite Creator intended us to be! Together in Unity. \nIn love\, light and peace ~ Ishkoodeh

SUMMARY:Wesley United to host Dr. Carol Kilby
DESCRIPTION:What Time Is It — Advent or Advent’ure? \n“In this climate emergency\, our traditional stories from the Hebrew-Christian Bible and the new story from modern science make for powerful dance partners\, stronger and more relevant together than apart.”  Carol Kilby\, Evolutionary Dancer\, Out\, In\, and On the Fringe of the Church \nIt is with great excitement that Wesley United in Welland announces that they are hosting Rev. Dr. Carol Kilby!  \nShe will share with us her wisdom gleaned from writing her book Evolutionary Dancer; Out\, In\, and On the Fringe of the Church. \nRev. Kilby will lead us in worship and in a learning circle just before Advent begins\, inviting us among other things\, to engage in this celebration of anticipation\, in the context of 21stC cosmology\, as an evolutionary moment for humanity and Christianity. There is no denying that we are experiencing  an ecological crisis and there is no better time to turn to our faith for wisdom on next steps. Carol’s book is available for purchase through Amazon. \n \nEvolutionary Dancer: Out\, In\, and on the Fringe of the Church \nThe event is called What time is it? Advent or Advent’ure? and it will take place on November 14th\, just prior to the beginning of Advent. The worship will begin at 10am and will be broadcast on YouTube Wesley United Church Welland. The afternoon learning circle has limited space but is planned to fully include participants through Zoom.  Registration is required for both in-person and zoom participants. Please register by contacting Dan Barrett at barrettdan@cogeco.ca or 905-732-7449. \nBIO: Rev. Dr. Carol Kilby\, author\, retired United Church of Canada clergy\, founder of the Gaia Centre for Eco-Spirituality and Sustainable Work\, ritualist\, storyteller\, grandma\, quilter and evolutionary\, is a student of life.  Our guest for Advent and Epiphany\, she is passionate that we recognize the planetary emergency for what it can be.
